Daniel invited Jason to visit Winkler Knives and, after doing so, Kasper wrote an “imaginary” custom Winkler blade into his next novel \u003ci\u003eBeast Three Six, \u003c\/i\u003ethe sixth book in his Shadow Strike Series. Worthy, a primary character in the book series, says of the knife “look at that false edge-this thing handles like a dream.” He also noted that the knife was “slim enough of fit behind a mag pouch, much less within the waistband of his armored plate carrier.”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eAfter reading about this non-existent Winkler knife, Daniel talked with Jason Kasper about the aspects the author found essential in a knife. Kasper had extensive experience with edged tools. He served in the United States Army for fifteen years, beginning as a Ranger Private and ending as a Green Beret Captain, and is also a Veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. One element he felt critically important for a knife was a finger guard.
